2011 Tennis Camps
Summer Program: The WRA offers two types of summer tennis camps for our junior members: Mini-Camps for 5 – 8 year-olds, and Junior Camps for 8 – 15 year-olds.
- Mini-Camps introduce 5 – 8 year-olds to tennis and emphasize fun, hand-eye coordination, basic stroke production, and appropriate sports conduct. They are 30 minutes in duration, have a maximum student to instructor ratio of 6:1, and cost $35 per session. On Wednesdays, the mini-camps begin 90 minutes later to accomodate morning Jr. Tennis Team matches.
- Session I – 10:00-10:30. Wed: 11:30-12:00
- Session II – 10:30-11:00. Wed: 12:00-12:30
- Junior Camps introduce 8 – 15 year-olds to tennis rules, scoring, etiquette, and fundamental stroke techniques. They are 60 minutes in duration, have maximum student to instructor ratio of 8:1, and cost $50 per session. On Wednesdays, the camps begin at least 90 minutes later to accomodate morning Jr. Tennis Team matches. Youth may participate in one clinic per week. This restriction is necessary to provide an equitable distribution of clinic space.
- Session I – 11:00-12:00. Wed: 12:30-1:30
- Session II – 12:30-1:30. Wed: 2:30-3:30
