Tennis Court Keys
The tennis courts are reserved for WRA members and guests. When the pool is open, the courts are accessible through the pool house. Please sign in with the gate guard before heading for the courts. When the pool is closed, the gates to the tennis courts are locked. Please contact our Tennis Chairman if you would like to have a key to the courts. Keys cost $15, payable by check made out to WRA.
Tennis Programs
For ages 10 to 18, join our junior tennis teams. Try one of our tennis camps for ages 5 to 16, or take private tennis lessons with our Head Pro.
Notice that we’ve restructured the tennis program to allow more kids to participate in the camps AND we’ve added an Advanced Junior Performance camp (Fridays for 1.5 hours) for those junior players wanting to really up their game. As of now there is no wait list for any of the junior clinics!!
There’s tennis for every age at the WRA; we’re always looking for adults to join our adult tennis programs. AND, we’ve added adult clinics to this year’s programming! We have adult beginner classes, cardio, and a stroke of the week. Sign up now to reserve a spot!!
About WRA Tennis
The Waynewood Recreation Association offers tennis activities to appeal to all ages. The facilities include three lighted courts and a practice backboard that are available to members year-round. During the season WRA offers summer camps for children, a junior tennis team, private lessons, adult team competition, and adult clinics.
WRA has engaged the Mount Vernon Athletic Club to run the WRA Tennis Program. The goals of the program are to:
- Provide an enjoyable tennis experience to WRA members at all levels of tennis skill.
- Provide team competition for WRA members who enjoy competition.
- Develop a competent club level player who will enjoy tennis as a lifetime sport through the WRA Tennis Program. This goal requires a program with a proper balance of fun, instruction, and competition.
