Dolphin Athlete Rules

  1. During any swim meet, swimmers are required to be in the team area. If you are done swimming, then you must either stay in the team area and cheer, or go home.
  2. Athletes who do not remain in the team area will be removed from any remaining events and suspended from the following meet.
  3. During the swim meet athletes are not allowed to eat candy or drink soda.
  4. We are encouraging athletes to eat and drink nutritious foods that will help them achieve their athletic goals.
  5. No littering. All members of the team are expected to keep the team area clean.
  6. If the team area is left in a state of disrepair, game day will be cut short or eliminated. The state of disrepair is defined as the amount of time the coaching staff and/or parents have to spend cleaning up the team area.
  7. Athletes who sit on, hang on or dunk (submerge) the lane ropes, or talk over the coaches will be removed from practice.
  8. For A-meets or relay carnivals, all swimmers must show up for attendance at least ten minutes prior to departure. If you are absent, or we don’t see you, then you risk being removed from your event. Seek special permission at least a day in advance if you intend to show up late for the meet.
  9. Show good sportsmanship at all times.
  10. Game day is a reward. In order to participate in weekly game days, swimmers must show up on time and ready to work. This rule also applies to Teen Nights.
  11. After every event, the swimmer should approach the coaches for feedback. There are 200 swimmers, and only a handful of coaches, therefore if you want advice it is your responsibility to ask for it.
  12. When morning swim practices begin, swimmers who plan to attend Thursday afternoon practice need to email Team Reps at gro.snihplodwwnull@speRmaeT no later than Wednesday of that week. If no one signs up, there will be no practice.
