About Membership
The Waynewood Recreation Association is a non-profit members as shareholders organization located in the heart of the Waynewood neighborhood. To join the WRA, a Certificate of Membership is purchased for $550, a one-time processing fee of $50 is paid as well as $7 per family member (associate members) other than the certificate holder. Memberships may be sold back to the WRA for the current value upon moving or a desire to terminate a membership.
Membership is at full capacity with 515 membership units. In addition, we have a number of temporary memberships and an extensive waiting list. The current wait for full membership is about 3 years. Annual dues notices are mailed on the first of March and dues must be paid by Super Sunday. The dues amount for the 2010 season is $450 and should be paid to WRA, 8606 Cushman Place, Alexandria,VA 22308 by May 2, 2010.
Our annual Super Sunday event will be held on May 2 from 1:00 – 3:00pm. At this time members may sign up for swim team, tennis lessons, tennis team, master’s swim, and other summer events. In addition you may volunteer to help with the annual Independence Day celebration and learn information about other happenings at the pool. This is also an opportunity to meet the coaches for the summer teams and to purchase swimwear for the Waynewood Dolphins swim team.
