Please be aware that blue recycling bins have been placed in and around the pool, tennis courts, basketball courts and playground to collect cans, bottles, plastics, and paper.

You can also recycle your Capri-Sun drink pouches and chip bags in the green and yellow containers near the eating area in the pool.

It just takes a second to recycle these items and it can make a big impact on our global legacy. Thank you for your support!

Field Descriptions | Reserve a Field

The Waynewood Recreation Association is located at the corner of Waynewood Boulevard and Dalebrook Drive in Alexandria, Virginia. Our facility includes:

Two 25-meter swimming pools, one with Duraflex diving board
One Water slide with 48 foot slide run
Fenced baby wading pool
Over 300 pieces of deck furniture (chairs, lounges, tables, and umbrellas)
Over 24,000 sq. ft. of new concrete decks, fully fenced
Night lighting (pool and deck)
Large pool house
Pool operated by a professional pool management company and
staffed by qualified and certified personnel
One enclosed basketball court
Three enclosed tennis courts
Two baseball diamonds
Horseshoe pit
Children’s playground including swings, merry-go-round, slide, jungle gym,
monkeybars, sand box

Facilities & Grounds Access

The pool and tennis courts are reserved for members only, however, the playground is open to the community. Our fields are often filled with soccer, lacrosse and little league t-ball teams coached by our members. See the fields page for descriptions and locations of the sports fields. Facility Reservations

Many members hold birthday parties in the park. If you are a member, and your party is not larger than 20 people, there is no need to reserve a spot. If your party will be larger than 20, or you also intend to bring your group to the pool, you will need to fill out the request form. This will help us insure that adequate lifeguard staffing is available, and that the picnic grounds are not overcrowded.  For information and forms, go to the Reserve Fields and Facilities page.
